Project Engineer/Geoscientist – Mining Projects

Position is based in Sudbury or Timmins, ON

We are looking for a motivated engineer/geoscientist to join our team supporting increasing environmental project work in the mining sector.  The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers, geoscientists, technologists and designers conducting groundwater and surface water assessments, developing and implementing remediation plans, developing water management plans, supporting water permit applications, and providing closure plan support.   We support mining clients across Canada in base metals, gold, potash, and lithium; and are active on development projects, actively operated mine sites, and closed/abandoned sites.

What you will be doing at Pinchin

• Playing a key role providing technical input on projects; including baseline groundwater and surface water assessments, groundwater/surface water/soil characterization of active and closed sites, remediation plan development and remedial cost preparation.
• Being a technical team lead for certain aspects of projects.
• Assisting with the technical, scheduling and costing components of proposals
• Building leadership and mentorship skills by working with and mentoring junior staff

What you bring to the Pinchin team 

• P.Eng. or P.Geo. in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain within one year from the start of employment.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental consulting and/or industry.
• Valid driver’s licence and insurance (work related travel expenses will be compensated)
• Strong communication skills & professional presentation
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong desire to work in a collaborative team environment
