POSITION SCOPE:

The successful candidate for this position will have excellent time management and coordination skills. The Audiometric Technician will lead the hearing conservation program, coordinate and schedule various hearing clinics, on and offsite, under the direction of the Lead Medical Surveillance Nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Occupational Health Audiometric Technician shall, in every aspect of their position:

  • Promote the NEOMO Occupational Health Vision and Mission Statements
  • Follow all NEOMO policy and procedure requirements.
  • Uphold the ethics of their position and the Occupational Health Team

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Coordinating/Scheduling hearing clinics for various partners, both on and offsite.
  • Ensuring proper adherence to hearing protocols and procedures.
  • Compiling and recording test results.
  • Maintaining and calibrating audiometric testing equipment.
  • Regular communication with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • General knowledge of audiometric tests.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Audiometric screenings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Ability to plan and deliver individual and group education programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to establish workload priorities.
  • Ability to clean and reprocess related equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum of a post-secondary education.
  • At least 1 year of applicable audio technician experience, preferably in Occupational Health.
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.

Additional Requirements

  • NEOMO’s current hours of operation are from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some availability may be required on weekends and/or afternoons for mobile clinics, however employee’s would be informed of this well in advance. Offsite clinics may operate outside of Greater City of Sudbury. Travel is required on occasion.
